What is scalp micropigmentation?
Scalp micropigmentation is a cosmetic permanent makeup procedure. Although it is similar to a tattoo, there are differences in technique and pigment that makes the procedure look more natural and appealing. Scalp micropigmentation is a hyperrealism procedure that gives the illusion of short hair, even though there may be little to none. Both men and women of any age may benefit from scalp micropigmention.
Does scalp micropigmentation hurt?
At Juan Cantor Studio, we use a topical anesthetic before and during the procedure to maximize client comfort.
How long does scalp micropigmentation last?
Scalp micropigmentation may last between 3-5 years, depending on your skin type and lifestyle if aftercare is followed and is taken care of correctly.
Is scalp micropigmentation a tattoo?

Can women get scalp micropigmentation?
Both men and women experiencing hair loss, thinning hair, hairline recession, pattern baldness, hair transplant scaring, and alopecia are candidates for scalp micropigmentation.
What happens during a consultation?
During a client consultation, the area that will be worked on will be evaluated to determine if the client is a candidate and provide an accurate quote based on the client’s wants and needs.
What is a desired hairline?
The desired hairline is dependent on the client’s natural hairline and their wants. We will work together to decide which hairline is best for each client.
How long does each session take and how many sessions do I need?
Each session may take between 2-4 hours. There are usually two to three sessions (depending on client’s skin type and pigment retention), and each session is separated by two weeks.
May I cover scars with scalp micropigmentation?
Yes, scars can be camouflaged if the client desires it.
Can people with alopecia get scalp micropigmentation?
Yes, clients with alopecia may get scalp micropigmentation.
How do I care for my scalp micropigmentation procedure?
It’s very important to care for your scalp micropigmentation procedure to enjoy its benefits for the maximum amount of years. For days 1-3 don’t use any water or any shampoos or products except A&D ointment. Apply small amount of A&D ointment twice daily in the morning and afternoon. For days 4-7 rinse with water and only use organic shampoo. Shampoo must NOT have alcohol or sulfates. After one week you may cut your hair but please avoid swimming, excessive sweating through exercising, hot sauna, hot bath, or Jacuzzi, sun tanning or salon tanning, UV/UVA Rays or chemicals, drinking alcohol in excess, as it may lead to slow healing of wounds, driving in open air vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bicycles, or motorcycles, and touching of the treated area except for when applying the post-care cream.
Do I need to prepare for my scalp micropigmentation procedure?
For the best results possible, we advice to not consume any alcohol or drugs at least 24 hours prior to your procedure. Also, avoid going to your appointment with a sunburn, rash, or any recent skin treatments on the area that will be worked on (scalp).
